To generate this complex painting, Gregor used 3D computer modelling to create intricate lattices based on the repetition of simple geometric shapes. Three projections taken through those lattices were overlaid on one another, creating a mesmerising pattern of interacting forms. The resulting image represents a vision of quantum field theory, which suggests that matter and energy are simply the result of interactions between a number of fields that fill the universe.
