On 5 May 2022, 12 candidates stood for election to the new North Coast ward in North Ayrshire.

The new ward is slightly larger than the old North Coast and Cumbraes ward, and now covers the areas around Largs, Fairlie, West Kilbride and the West Kilbride end of Dalry, as well as the Cumbraes. In recognition of this expansion, it has also grown to have five councillors rather than the previous four.

The five councillors that have been selected to represent the North Coast ward for the next five years are:

• Ian Murdoch (Independent).

• Todd Ferguson (Scottish Conservative and Unionist).

• Eleanor Collier (Scottish National Party).

• Tom Marshall (Scottish Conservative and Unionist).

• Alan Hill (Scottish National Party).

Cumbrae Community Council welcomes all the councillors that now represent our local area, and looks forward to working with them over the next five years.
