Physics painting 1645 by Gregor Harvie

#1742

122cm x 122cm, acrylic on 2 panels

This painting is based on a simulation of a particle collision in the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva. The grids represent the collision detectors, but also hint at the fabric of space itself. The black circle is a motif that appears in several of Gregor's paintings, representing both the point of impact of the particle collision, and also the unknown, the boundary beyond which we are unable to see.
