60cm x 120cm, acrylic on board

Quantum theory suggests the universe is probabilistic and indeterminate. It is not possible to know with absolute certainty where things are or how they are behaving. We can only describe the components of the universe in terms of averages, likely patterns, within which individual elements emerge, disappear and jump randomly between different states. The intricate layers of this apparently simple painting capture that sense of uncertainty, whilst still combining to create a definite overall form.
